This wine was conceived as a dedicated experiment to explore the evolution of Nerello Mascalese in Contrada Mille Cocchita through its interaction with large oak barrels. Following separation from the skins, the wine underwent malolactic fermentation before beginning its maturation process.<br \/>The ageing process, lasting approximately 12 months, took place entirely in tonneaux, a choice that enhanced the wine\u2019s balance without overpowering the characteristic freshness and mineral character of the volcanic terroir.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p class=\"p1\">Surgi Etna Rosso \u201cin tonneau\u201d displays a deep, intense ruby-red colour. On the nose, it reveals rich, enveloping fruit aromas, beautifully balanced by mineral hints and subtle spicy notes imparted by ageing in large oak barrels. On the palate, the wine is concentrated and remarkably well-balanced, with lingering flavours of dark berries and ripe cherries.
